COTESA STARTS ENERGY SALES IN SC

Foco da empresa é no sul do país, depois de entrar no segmento da gestão da energia

Brasil Energia Magazine – By Marcelo Furtado

After starting in energy management in 2016, Cotesa, from Florianópolis (SC), started operating in May as an energy trading agent, the month in which it received authorization from Aneel.

According to the director of Cotesa Energy Trader, Rafael Franzoni, the authorization immediately allowed the company to intermediate the purchase and sale of energy from the 40 consumer units served by the management area and three SHPs. All of them from the south of the country.

The SHPs (Aguti, São Sebastião and São Valentim) belong to the Cotesa group, all in Nova Trento (SC) and together with a total installed capacity of 10 MW.

According to Franzoni, the action has made the client portfolio expand, as part of the energy left over from the units managed by Cotesa (industries and supermarkets) is now also sold to third parties.

For him, the moment, although not favorable for new migrations to the free market, due to the parity of tariffs with the regulated market, is beginning to show signs of feasibility for new generation projects, whether solar, wind or SHPs.

In the medium and long term, according to Franzoni, the idea is to retain current customers so that when the free market resumes, good performance can serve as “advertising” to win new accounts.
