COTESA CONCLUDES STRATEGIC PLANNING ENGINEERING WITH FOCUS ON NEW GENERATION AND TRANSMISSION MARKETS
At a meeting of the Advisory Board, the Engineering Cotesa approved its strategic plan for the next five years in order to gain new customers partners in the areas of generation and transmission and strengthen the brand in the sectors where it is already present. The company, located in Florianópolis, is recognized as a traditional O&M player in the energy generation and transmission sector and operates in all regions of Brazil.
Cotesa's strategic planning began with the change in the company's organizational chart and policy, in the last two years, of not having exclusive dependence on just one market or on a small group of partner clients that represented almost the entirety of the revenues. “Strategic planning was one of the main milestones for short-term actions. We diversified the range of services and markets to be always prospected in the O&M segment”, explains the president of the Cotesa Group, João Junklaus.
Among the main changes are the restructuring of a functional organization chart aimed at improving the engineering, operations, business and support areas, the mapping of risks and potential markets with opportunities for partnerships. As an essential tool for the company's business, a new headquarters in Florianópolis was implemented, as well as a modern Real-Time Operations Center, following the ONS requirements and Grid Procedures, and which already dispatches Wind, Hydraulic and Solar Generation assets, as well as Transmission. TOTVS' Protheus software was also implemented, which made it possible to manage and manage information from all areas.
As a result of these first changes, more than 25 O&M contracts have already been won, placing Cotesa Engenharia in a special position in the Renewable Energy sector and strengthening its presence in the transmission area. In order to have the dimension of the increase in the service portfolio, the company currently operates and maintains around 1.6 GW of Renewable Energy assets, predominantly in Wind, in addition to 4,000 km of transmission lines and 32 large substations interconnected to the SIN.
To diversify its portfolio in renewable energies, the company seeks to prospect solar photovoltaic energy assets to offer O&M services in both BOS and PV. Currently, the Group already has under its domain 400 MW/p in this segment, belonging to an international giant in the sector.
The strategic planning was prepared by the company's committee of 11 professionals from the SWOT matrix and 18 action plans were reached, which will be monitored quarterly and revised annually.
