COTESA GROUP OPERATES WITH CONTINGENTIAL MEASURES AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

Cotesa Group informs that it is working in line with government decrees to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and has taken the necessary contingency measures in all its areas of operation, whether at the headquarters in Florianópolis or at the plants spread across the five regions of Brazil .

Last Monday (16), the Crisis Committee of the Cotesa Group was created. The action was essential to anticipate and make the home office viable for all employees at the headquarters and to create a relay between the field teams.

These first actions aim to eliminate contagion among our professionals, however, if one is infected, reduce the transmission of the virus to the rest of the team. In this way, in urgent or emergency cases, the projects will not be left unattended.

Activation of two Operation Centers

For our Operations Center (COS), which remotely operates wind, solar and hydro plants, as well as Transmission Lines and High and Extra-High Voltage Substations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, conditions were created that reduce direct contact between employees, without losing quality in the activities provided.

There is a mandatory use of alcohol gel, masks for changing shifts and increased cleaning and disinfection. For greater reliability, and also aiming to minimize the contagion of operators, from 11 pm on March 16, Cotesa also started operating, in parallel through its two Operation Centers:

• Main COS, located at SC-401,
• COS Backup, located in downtown Florianópolis.

“The standard is that the professionals work in pairs, but this measure makes them work individually in each of the Operation Centers, minimizing the risk of transmission between them”, explains the Operational Director of Cotesa Engineering, Rafael Franzoni.

In order for operators to interact, we sought to use technological tools to minimize the distance. “We use a communication channel that is online 24×7, where operators interact in real time, talking as if they were side by side, but without any risk of virus contagion”, quoted the Operations Manager, Daniel Bicicgo.

All measures were taken to minimize the risk in all assets in which Cotesa operates.
