Approved project that guarantees solar energy subsidy until 2045

The Chamber of Deputies approved a bill that establishes that consumers who already produce and use renewable energy sources, such as solar, are exempt until 2045 from the tariff for the use of energy distribution wires, which allows the investments made to be amortized.

This type of energy is the most accessible for micro and mini-generation. There are 700 thousand solar energy consumer units, which accounts for almost 98% of the universe of distributed generation, according to data from Absolar (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy).

Since 2012, according to an approved report, distributed micro and mini-generation has been responsible for the creation of more than 140 thousand jobs, with tax collection equivalent to R$ 5.9 billion. For this year, the forecast of investments in the sector is in the order of R$ 16.7 billion. By 2032, distributed generation will bring savings of BRL 13.8 billion to energy consumers.
