Detailed inspection records 836 anomalies in 105 km Transmission Line

COTESA Engenharia has concluded the detailed inspection of a 105 km long Transmission Line, with the inspection of 255 towers, 50% of which were climbed.

In total, 415 occurrences were recorded, for a total of 836 anomalies. The top three anomalies were:

1st - tall vegetation and tree felling (214 records)
2nd - fence grounding (157 records)
3rd - broken or burnt insulators (91 records)

The detailed ground inspection walks the entire length of the line, identifying and noting all anomalies in all structures and components, such as insulator strings, conductor cables, lightning rods, OPGW, grounding system, and right-of-way conditions.

During the same period, thermovision inspections and corona effect inspections with ultraviolet equipment were also carried out on all insulator chains and connection points along the entire line, as well as grounding resistance measurements on all towers.
