Renato Quadros is one of the symbols of our company not only for his experience and competence, but for the continuity of studying in order to be up to date and always apply new knowledge with usefulness at work. Therefore, on this Electrical Engineer Day, we pay tribute to those who are always willing to share knowledge and contribute so much to the growth of our colleagues.

Born in Florianópolis and graduated at UFSC in December 1977, he began working professionally the following month in the Transmission area at Eletrosul. Like every new engineer, he left with a very theoretical background and within the company he took advantage of every possible opportunity to take courses and apply university theory in practice.

After a year of work, he was invited to take over the Substation Operations sector. “We had all the work of verifying and analyzing the occurrences, focusing on the issue of safety, but it was also important to learn how to manage people,” says Quadros about the experience.

As Renato was always driven by the search for new knowledge and technologies, he was selected to take the 40-day course in Japan to implement the Uruguaiana Frequency Converter. “I had this great responsibility, so I did the eight hours of the course every day and still deepened with my Japanese colleagues. Thanks to God we were able to do an excellent job”, he recalls with joy.

Since 2006 the Cotesa Engineering, Renato Boards have contributed in various areas of the company. He started in the O&M sector, analyzing occurrences and giving instructions to colleagues, being promoted to contract management and today he works as a technical assistant to the Operations Department

On this Electrical Engineer Day, he advises his younger colleagues to study hard. “Knowledge is more and more necessary, but always with a practical vision that the work is useful for the company and for society”, he emphasizes.
