COTESA Engenharia keeps its operation during Carnaval

During Carnival, one of the most celebrated popular festivals in Brazil, COTESA Engenharia will continue working 24/7, monitoring all assets and with the commitment to maintain them in operation 100% of the time. The maintenance teams will also remain available to attend to due occurrences and eventual emergencies.

Currently, COTESA Engenharia is responsible for Operation & Maintenance of 3.2 GW of solar and wind power generation assets, 8.3 thousand km of High and Extra High Voltage Transmission Lines, 112 substations and 508 MW of hydroelectric generation.

All activities will be carried out in consensus with the procedures for the operation of the National Interconnected System (SIN), issued by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) on February 9. The measures will take place from 5pm on February 17 until noon on February 22.

Among the main highlights is that for all capital cities, including the Federal District, only interventions that do not entail load shedding, or risk of load shedding, as well as interventions that if not carried out would impose risks to human lives, to the equipment or to the operational safety of the SIN, can be authorized.

For the other regions of the country, with a history of large crowds during the carnival period, ONS will evaluate the urgency and necessity of interventions, case by case, in order to maintain the integrity of the service to these locations during the festivities.
