The energy sources that grew the most from 2020 to 2021

The Energy Research Company (EPE), in the Anuário Estatístico de Energia Elétrica, published that proportionally the largest installed capacity of electricity generation was from solar generation, which closed the year 2021 with an increase in installed power of 40.9% over the previous year, and in 2020 there was an increase of almost 33% over 2019.

In total, the installed capacity for electricity generation in Brazil was expanded by 3.9%, with the majority contribution from hydraulic generation. 656 TWh were produced, corresponding to a growth of 5.6% between 2020 and 2021, with the largest percentage increases in generation from petroleum products (+113.2%) and natural gas (+62.3%).
