COTESA STARTS ENGINEERING CRITICAL ASSET OPERATION IN SIN

Through its Operations Center, Engineering Cotesa started transmission system operating three substations of the National Interconnected System (SIN), two transformers and an interconnection patio with distribution. In total, there are three 230kV transmission lines and four 100MVA transformers each.

The three substations are located in Pernambuco and have the main purpose of interconnecting the transmission system with the distribution system, serving the local distributor. The substations have voltages of 230kV and 69kV and the transmission lines 230kV. The project expanded the flow of renewable energy to the countryside of Pernambuco with the construction of 129 km of power transmission lines.

The work of Cotesa Engineering from Operations Center will be the remote operation, engineering and maintenance. For the COS manager, Daniel Bicicgo, the biggest challenge was the implementation and migration of the remote operation in the very short term. “It usually takes us a month to start up the operation of each substation, but in this project we only took 40 days for the three plants”, comments Bicicgo.
